Tariff Code Compliance for Claude Is Live
Claude can now connect to TCC's current tariff knowledge graph, research plausible classifications, and explain the evidence and uncertainty inside the conversation.
Tariff Code Compliance for Claude is available in the public Connectors Directory. It gives Claude bounded tools for discovering tariff systems and versions, resolving and searching classification nodes, reading graph evidence, and inspecting relationships.
TCC gives Claude read-only tariff data and evidence. You decide whether and how to use the resulting recommendation. The results are for research only and are not legal advice or a binding customs ruling.
Connect in six steps
- Open the public TCC listing, or open Customize, choose Connectors, and search the Directory for Tariff Code Compliance.
- Review the publisher, seven tariff-research tools, sign-in requirement, and connector URL.
- Choose Connect to Claude. A previously connected account may show Re-authorize.
- Sign up for or sign in to Tariff Code Compliance Explorer through Auth0, review the requested
tcc.knowledge_graph.readaccess, and approve consent. - Return to Claude and enable Tariff Code Compliance for the conversation when needed.
- Start by asking which tariff systems and exact versions are available now.
Free during the beta
Eligible new Tariff Code Compliance Explorer accounts can use the Claude connector for free during the current beta. There is no charge to connect or use it today.
You need an eligible Claude plan to enable the connector. On Team and Enterprise workspaces, an administrator may need to enable it before you can connect. If you cannot find or enable Tariff Code Compliance, ask your Claude workspace administrator for help.
Before starting a classification, ask Claude which tariff systems and versions TCC currently supports. Claude checks this with list_tariff_systems. If the destination you need is not listed, tell us which tariff system you want.
A complete structured example
In the historical captured production conversation, Claude researched a men's short-sleeve knitted T-shirt made of 100% cotton for import into the United States. It exercised all seven connector tools and reported the runtime system as US_HTS, version 2026-rev-4. That version identifies the dated capture and is not presented as the current default.

Claude selected 6109.10.00.12as the best-supported result for the stated facts. It rejected the all-white, singlet, thermal, boys', and other-textile-material branches, then showed the resolved node, hierarchy, rate relationships, notes, and unresolved caveats. That is the intended result shape: a recommendation with its system and version, facts used, evidence, rejected alternatives, assumptions, and uncertainty.
What happens when facts are missing
Example prompt
Classify my accessory. I do not know its material, what it is used with, or the destination.
Claude needs enough detail to distinguish between plausible codes. For this example, it should pause and ask about the destination, what the accessory does, what it is made of, how it is constructed, and which product it works with. Once those facts are known, Claude can compare the relevant candidates and explain what evidence supports or rules out each one.
Use the TCC classification workflow
TCC also publishes a reusable Classify Product skill for compatible agents and developers. It is a step-by-step workflow for gathering product facts, researching evidence, and comparing plausible codes. Claude's directory listing installs the TCC connector itself, not this standalone skill, so there is nothing else to install in Claude.
To use the workflow, ask Claude to research a tariff classification with TCC. Include the destination, product function, materials, construction, and intended use when you know them, and ask for evidence, rejected alternatives, assumptions, and uncertainty. Claude should ask follow-up questions when an important fact is missing.
